Choueiri and Arthur win Women's Foursome Championship
at Oxley
Bree
Arthur (Brookwater) and Skye Choueiri (Pacific) have taken
out the Queensland Women's Amateur Foursome Championship,
held today at Oxley Golf Club by just one stroke. The young
team fired a 78 (+6) this morning and then a 37 (+2) in the
afternoon 9 holes, to finish at 115 (+8).

wins Queensland Senior Amateur in Playoff
New
South Welshman Stefan Albinski (Mona Vale) has taken out the
Queensland Senior Men's Amateur Championship after an impressive
performance this week at Bribie Island Golf Club which saw
him defeat Kiwi Rodney Barltrop in a playoff after both players
finished at 215 (-1) for the 54 holes.

O'Keeffe takes out Queensland Sand Green Title
19 year old Brooke O'Keeffe from Springsure
Golf Club is the 2008 Queensland Women's Sand Green Champion
with scores of 72, 71 (143 ) 1 under. O'Keeffe went into the
final round with a 3 shot lead and maintained her composure
to win by a total of six shots from Julie-Ann Carson also
from Springsure Golf Club.

North Qld Girls Win Junior Jug
The 2008 Inter-District Match Play Teams Event
for junior girls wound up this morning at the Coolangatta-Tweed
Heads Golf Club.....The girls from Women's Golf North Queensland
were very excited to be declared the winners of the 2008 Junior
Jug after some closely-fought matches in the final round.

to take out the 2008 Queensland Mixed Foursome Championship
held at The Brisbane Golf Club today. In absolutely perfect
conditions the duo put together rounds of 70 (Even) and 69
(-1) to finish the 36 holes on 139 (-1) and win by 3 shots.

Teese wins Sand Green Championship at Longreach
Colin
Teese (Virginia) has this afternoon taken out the biggest
event in his short golfing career by winning the 2008 Queensland
Men's Sand Green Championship played at Longreach golf Club
in central western Queensland.
Beginning the day one shot behind
overnight leader Matthew Miller (Barcaldine) Teese, who hails
from Texas, managed another solid round of 69 (-3) to overtake
Miller and hold off a host of players to win by just one shot.

took out the NSW State Amateur Championship at Ryde Parramatta
Golf Club earlier this week.
Arthur defeated Rebecca Flood (Pennant Hills)
2&1 in an exciting 36 hole final which went down to the
wire.

Australia's
number one amateur golfer, Matthew Griffin (Victoria GC) has
finished off a stellar Australian amateur season with his
second major victory, by taking out the 2008 Keperra Bowl
this afternoon. Griffin held off charging Queenslander Ray
Beaufils (Surfers Paradise) and Tasmanian Ryan McCarthy (Seabrook)
in a thrilling finale to a great week of golf at Keperra Country
Golf Club.

wins Queensland Women's Country Championship in a Thrilling
Finish
In what was a thrilling final
day at Toowoomba Golf Club, Amy Harding (Surfers Paradise)
came out on top to win the Championship after a four-hole
playoff with club mate Lyn Garred. Twenty-one year old Harding
took advantage of the perfect playing conditions today to
post a solid final round score of 77 (+4) at the Toowoomba
layout giving her a Championship total of 156 (+11).

In ideal autumn conditions, almost 400 women
golfers teed off at Toowoomba and City Golf Club's for the
opening day of the 2008 Queensland Women's Country Championships.
The players were split into four equal divisions with divisions
1 and 2 at Toowoomba Golf Club and divisions 3 and 4 playing
at City Golf Club.

Consoli, the 6th qualifier in last week's Queensland Medal
has won the 2008 Queensland Men's Amateur Championship this
afternoon at Bribie Island Golf Club in what is easily the
biggest achievement of his golfing career. The 20 year old
from Pacific Golf Club played outstanding golf today to defeat
fellow clubmate Do Eun (Philip) An 3&2.

Rankin takes out Queensland Medal

Rankin has signalled he is back with a resounding 7 shot victory
in the 2008 Queensland Medal which finished today at the Nudgee
Golf Club. Rankin who admits himself has struggled over the
last 6 months, knew he was close to finding his touch after
some good performances lately, however was extremely pleased
with his performance this week, taking out the Medal and his
biggest victory to date.

year old Victorian golfer Stacey Keating (Victoria) took out
the Queensland Women's Stroke Play Championship by 5 strokes
from Ellie Na (Royal Pines). Keating started the day 9 strokes
in front but when she double bogied the par 4, 12th and also
dropped a shot on the 13th things started to tense up a little
as Na picked up two shots on the same holes.

This Course is designed for beginner/intermediate
coaches. It is the first level of the National Coaching Accreditation
Scheme. The target group includes schoolteachers, golf club
personnel interested in developing junior golf, parents and
late secondary and tertiary students. Participants require
an official Australian handicap, or need to be a sports studies/physical
education tertiary student, or a trained teacher.

Katelyn Must (Club Pelican) shot
73 (even par) today at Horton Park Golf Course to win the
Queensland Girls 54 Hole Championship by one shot from Round
two leader Hannah Kim (Gainsborough Greens). Must started
the day 5 shots behind the lead but the Queensland State Junior
Team member showed her experience with a solid round of golf
for a championship score of 74, 78, 73 (225) +6.

at the Queensland Girls 54 Hole Championship at Horton Park
Golf Club after another challenging day of strong winds and
rain periods. Kim carded a 71 (-2) for a two round total of
147 (+1) to take a three shot lead from closest rivals Jacki
Marshall (Pacific) 78, 72 (150) +4 and Ali Orchard (Surfers
Paradise) 76,74 (150) +4.

Championships
In
what turned out to be an amazing climax to this year's Queensland
Indigenous Championships at Murgon Golf Club, India Matthews
(Southport) has come from 8 shots behind to force a playoff
in the Women's Championship. Matthews fired a course record
73 (+1) today and then won a three way playoff at the first
extra hole to become the 2008 Queensland Women's Indigenous
Champion.

Davies Plate drawn for 3rd year in a row
The Queensland Junior Team has yet again drawn
the annual PJ Davies Plate 3-3 with a quality PGA Trainee
team in another competitive contest at Indooroopilly Golf
Club on Friday 14th March. The PJ Davies Plate is traditionally
a great practice match for the Queensland youngsters as they
prepare for the Australian Boys' Interstate Series in March
- April. The matchplay format is without doubt extremely competitive,
proved once again by a third consecutive draw in the series.

wins Regional Open at Kingaroy
Woodford golfer, Melissa Donaldson has taken
the major prize at Kingaroy Golf Club today winning the Single
Stroke event in the Golf Queensland Regional Women's Open.
Donaldson who just turned 19, shot the days best round with
an 85 (+12) in windy conditions on a well presented Kingaroy
layout. Her round was just one shot better than three other
players - Venessa Hansen (Kingaroy), Joan Parker (Kingaroy)
and Jasmine Finlay (Windaroo Lakes).
