O'Keeffe takes out Queensland Sand Green Title

19 year old Brooke O'Keeffe from Springsure Golf Club is the 2008 Queensland Women's Sand Green Champion with scores of 72, 71 (143 ) 1 under. O'Keeffe went into the final round with a 3 shot lead and maintained her composure to win by a total of six shots from Julie-Ann Carson also from Springsure Golf Club.

The B Grade was won by Dawn Irwin (Roma) 84, 78 (162) from Shirley Beard (Chinchilla) 89, 78 (167)

Helen Mayne (Clermont) posted the best score in C Grade with 94, 88 (182) taking a 6 shot lead from Patsy Gundry Wandoan 97, 91 (188)


Division winners of the 2008 Women's Sand Green Championship

Richmond's 9 Hole Sand Green Course proved an excellent venue for this year's Women's Sand Green Championship. Cold morning conditions transferred to pleasant warm winters' days, providing superb conditions for good golf.

Players from all over Queensland particularly the western regions took advantage of these ideal conditions to post excellent scores in all divisions.

Golf Queensland would like to thank Richmond Golf Club for their hospitality and hard work in hosting this year's very successful event.
